My Start Up my Story

What is #MyStartUpMyStory all about?

#MyStartUpMyStory serves as the launch campaign for the Innovator Trust’s Start-Up programme for young, start-up entrepreneurs with businesses who need a boost in the ICT sector. The #MyStartUpMyStory message finds its roots within a familiar South African reality – that in tough times, those with limited means have always found a way to trade themselves out of trouble.

We know that as a start-up entrepreneur, there are parts of your story that no-one could ever guess. We know that there is a lack of formal assistance and access to industry for business owners who are just starting out. We also know that there are those like you, who possess the grit, determination and have put in the work to get your smart and innovative tech ideas off the ground, despite the obstacles.

It’s time to own it all, every challenge and every win that’s made you one of a kind.

The #MyStartUpMyStory programme is here to help you grow, to give you the boost you need to redefine your opportunity.

Share your inspiring start-up story and submit your application now for a chance to be a part of the 2021 intake for the Innovator Trust’s Start-Up Programme, where over the next 2 years, you’ll gain access to one-on-one mentorship, skills training, cash grants, and more.

What is an ICT based business?

A good way to think about ICT is to consider all uses of digital technology that exist to help individuals, businesses and organisations use information. ICT covers any product that will store, retrieve, manipulate, transmit or receive information electronically in a digital form. For example, personal computers, digital television, email, robotics, cloud hosting, fibre installations, networking, AR, VR, developers etc.
